for those who are interested in the "New" Nintendo 3DS, let me tell you, it's a good system, 1: all loading is fast, even when booting up smash. 2: you can post to the miiverse from inside smash with pics. 3: eye tracking stereoscopic 3D. 4: non clicky sounding hinges. 5: wonderful smooth matt finish. 6: the awesome faceplate customization option. 7: the screen size is 20% larger than the original

  • Question. Can you transfer your game data & Miiverse info into the new system?

  • I spent this morning doing that (from my 3DS XL), so yes, the "New" 3DS only takes micro SD tho, it will first move your DSi games to the SD card, transfer, then when you move the SD over, it will install the DSi onto the console, and when you boot up, your NNID, all games, save data, folders, and themes are as it was on the previous 3DS

  • Interesting. I thought of getting one but I wasn't sure on how that works. Guess I should keep my XL then. Thank you.

  • the screen is only 20% larger than the original compared to both XL which is 90% larger than the original, however, the eye tracking makes the stereoscopic 3D much bettter and harder to break, so it's better imho

  • my wife has the "New" 3DS XL, the main difference I would say is the hinges, on the "New"XL, it's clicky just like the regular XL, the finish is metalic on the "New" XL, but it does have more room for your thumb on the C stick, also the C stick doesn't move on either, but it's surprisingly responsive, I used Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate to test it

  • What about the ZR & ZL buttons? Do they feel awkward to press or are they in a strange position?

  • no, it doesn't feel awkward, for either of us on either "new" consoles, my hands are larger than hers, she finds the 2DS comfortable, while I find the 2DS shoulder buttons wrong and awkward, but we both agree the "new" ZR and ZL feels fine

  • i cant play the regular 3ds , my fingers are forced into an awkwardly, uncomfortable position. i'll defo be getting the new xl. i cant see any point in getting normal other than cost . who wants smaller screens and buttons closer together. unless you have tiny hands. xl all the way for me. prefer it now, cant see that changing.

  • Actually, the button spacing is the same between the "new" 3DS and XL, I can say that both are great, me and my wife never liked the edges of the original, but with the "new" 3DS, it feels comfortable, it's no longer edgy, the matt finish works as a softner. Deciding which to get was hard (she had both), in the end it came down to the colour/customisation, surface feel, and the sound of the hinges

  • most of the other aspect was equal, the "new" XL felt like it had more space around the c stick, obviously it had 90% larger screen than the original as apposed to just 20% on mine compared to the originals screen size of the 3DS, but with the "new" XL, the metalic finish meant finger prints everywhere! but still nice tho, both eye tracking stereoscopic 3D was simply glorious!

  • im on the verge of pre ordering a limited edition new xl . i either want the yoshi one, as ive a soft spot for him, lol, or the smash bros one. they each come with either smash bros or yoshi game preinstalled and look great. but cost about 40quid more than a plain one. i dunno. i should wait to see what other offers are about at release. might be cheaper than official ninty uk shop

  • we have the black new 3ds xl, its nice, beautiful screen, 1 downside was the colours of the button, its not as nice aestheticly, so in terms of colour, it might have looked nicer in white, because the colours of the button would pop, if the yoshi is white, go for it, judt keep in mind new 3ds xl isn't customisable like the new 3ds, so what ever you buy is what you'll have to live it
