  • Wasn't there an FE game where there was a bow which could be used in Close combat...?

  • @Yarumi: You mean the crossbows from TRadiant Dawn?

  • @Paul I think so... I remembered it was either PoR or RD.

  • Why don't they exist anymore...? T.T

  • @Yarumi: IS hates Archers? (Think about it: they can't fight up-close, and they're only specialty is that they do a little bit more damage to fliers, a trait shared by wind magic which CAN fight up-close.) At least Archers are good for bypassing Counter.)

  • @Paul An Argument against your theory: Longbows; Archers can attack from a higher distance then other classes (ignoring Magic like Mire, because... we know it's hit Chance)

  • Bows are pretty underrated. Like Paul said they help a lot against Counter and are useful in Lunatic(+) because they limit the number of enemies that you have to face in the Enemy Phase. Snipers are also one of the best classes in Apotheosis. They are bad in Normal/Hard/when you grind, though.

  • @Boris I wouldn't approve with the last statement. For me, Archers are always helpful. ...But they could add more bonus damages... *cough* RD *cough*

  • @Boris: Though, that's only in Awakening. In other FE games, where pair up, Counter enemies and Apo. don't exist you're better off just using other classes.

  • @Paul But if I remember correctly, only Archers could use Ballistas, which made bonus damage against Laguz in PoR/RD.

  • @Yarumi They get outclassed by other weapon types, is what I should have said. @Paul I found Innes quite good but then again I haven't played FE8 Hard mode and FE8 is a pretty easy FE (at least that's what I heard). However limiting enemy facings could still be useful but you're probably right.

  • @Boris: I haven't gotten a chance to try Innes yet. I really should continue SS...

  • @Paul However I haven't used him much. He was a bench-warmer αfter his recruitment chapter and later I decided to use him in the next to last chapter again, the fact that he could oneround quite a few enemys at base level speaks for his usefulness.

  • @Boris I used Innes, but I found Saleh much more useful.

  • I like using bows also on normal and hard. If you position them well, they can kill enemies in the enemy phase too. And I love Longbows!
