Impressions

What a Grande Finale ! That's what I call an epic last battle. But in the end, I can't take off my head that chapt. 5-7 were boring and annoying. They deserved the game. I started it more than a year ago and stoped playing because of that. I recently continued it, and I'm happy of it. But without these chapters, the game would have been perfect. Doesn't need these, it is long and rich enought.

I think the game needed the sidequests in chapter 7 without a doubt for that different dimension on the characters of the bearers. But honestly, why not just merge chapters 6 and 7 and have the conjurer quest in chapter 5? Chapter 8 was fine with its quests and the ending. The ending was perfectly worth everything though~

I think the two "different" endings were pretty unnecessary because they weren't so different at all. Also the actions of the main characters in the last few chapters before the "true" ending don't make any sense. "Hey, we know that you're evil buuuuut we'll still do what you say because f*** the world!"

One of the main issues with BD (though I will love it regardless because it has so many positives) is the plotholes. Like what you mentioned, the whole Edea didn't recognise a carbon copy of her brother thing and so on. Hopefully Bravely Second either justifies them or eliminates them.

Well the two endings are differents mostly because in the good one, you know who is the master of Airy. And the fight(s) are awesome, including the surprises when you see your friends world. Was great. So chpt 5-7 are necessary to 'win' this good ending, and really know and understand what other worlds are (especially if done all sidequests). But you're right Liz, they should have merged some chap

It could have been pulled off better. These worlds are parallel, but the sidequests show tiny differences (like certain people surviving). So why couldn't we have bigger differences, like rearranged dungeons or the bosses behaving differently at the crystals?

This seems likely. The game wasn't supposed to be as popular as it is, so they didn't have much resources for it. The original japanese version didn't even have the group asterisk fights in 7 and 8.

There are eleven chapters (eight numbered) like our version, but in the first Japanese version, all of the parallel world chapters have the same battles as chapter 5 and 6. In the remake of the Japanese version (the one we got) there were new sidequests.

Oh, so I would find the japanese version is even more boring and annoying. But I believe they will do something different for Bravely Second. I'll wait for reviews after the release to be sure about it. I still have a few achievement to complete btw. Have you done everything you want in BD yet ?
