  • What does this mean?

    Yeahs0
  • EU/AU (PAL) versions on earlier consoles are slower than the US/JP (NTSC) versions. I have the US version.

    Yeahs0
  • I have the US cart, but I would have bought it digitally if Nintendo had released the NTSC version instead. Oh well, saved me some money! Good job, Nintendo.

    Yeahs0
  • Correct the PAL version is 17.5% slower than the NTSC version. Which means that we whom bought this game got an inferior version than that of the Americans and Japanese.

The biggest problem is the smoothness. This game isn't 17,5% slower, it is an optimized port. The problem is the stuttering because the Wii U output is 60Hz but the game runs in 50Hz. Now the game is

forced to run in 60Hz which means that every 5th frame gets duplicated and so you can see the game stuttering. That's just stupid and we should get the choice between PAL and US Version.

    Yeahs0
  • Fux the game is still running 17.5% slower but the issue is made worse.

    Yeahs0
  • Yes the game is running 17.5% slower. Nintendo should really look into patching both The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past and Super Metroid.

  • thought it would be an optimized 50 Hz game

    Yeahs0
  • There is never an optimized 50hz game. It will always be the worst version of the game.

I hate 50Hz as much as you do but get your facts right. It's a difference between "50Hz" and "optimized 50Hz" For example Balloon Fight that game was 50Hz. A game like Kirby's Adventure was

"optimized 50Hz" that means that some aspects of the 50Hz problems were adressed but of course it is still inferior to a 60Hz version

As said before Nintendo barely optimised their games in the 90's. The optimisation they did made very little difference the games still ran slow. Sega did optimise correctly during the Sega Saturn.

    Yeahs0
  • They just didn't care, that's why.

    Yeahs0
  • SNES games do not need any optimization for the music. pop in any ntsc snes game in a pal one and you'll see. Music is never optimized for SNES games. This was only necessary on the NES.
