Does anyone know how to avoid getting hit by the bloopers? I can never swim fast enough to dodge them.

    it's not possible to avoid them. but you can attack them with the fire/ice flower power-up from a distance.

    Yeah, I just wish I had the fire/ice flower. The bloopers only follow you while you're above them, so I try to float down when they swim upwards, then I can get past. That seems to work so far.
