Gold Wheels are fast, but they slow down too much offroad. Try using Monsters, they're just a little slower, but you can go offroad without losing too much speed... Very useful for some shortcuts

wow!!! you've got the golden kart and yes i sometimes do use monster wheels on some of the tricky courses
