    Hold "R" button to ready to roll, touch the screen to drop any power-up item (Fire Flower), roll jump (makes go faster) and bump the wall right before he touches the power-up item (Fire Flower)...

    You can see something shining on Luigi's head after he grab Fire Flower to transform. If done correctly, it looks like his neck is snapped (seen in the 1st picture on top page I posted).
