The only thing I really don't like about Amiibo is the fact that all the figures are made of plastic. We already got so much plastic junk all around us. I would've been completely alright with chipped cards made of FSC paper. Nintendo should finally start to care about the environment.

Yeah it would be better if they were cardboard.

  • They do. They started a place to talk about it in the real world. You should get your facts straight before being a critic: Plus, guess what used chipped cards? The Hyperscan. Did it suceed? No.

  • David: It's not a laughing matter, I'm afraid. See it that way: More plastic production means more oil is being needed for it. Which means there is less oil left for everyone's precious cars.

  • The Jews were able to walk in the desert for 40 YEARS. I'm suprised God decided to invent the car.

  • Dale: What was this meeting all about exactly? Were there any results? Even if other card based games didn't succeed, it doesn't mean that cards wouldn't work for Smash. The whole IP is already strong enough. And if Nintendo gets the marketing right, they will succeed.

  • Look you have a point but paper dissolves when wet so it's not the smartest material if some kid accidentally spills a drink on it he's out 10 dollars

    Yeahs2
  • Certainly you got a point as well, in that case I'd tell my kid to be a bit more careful with their toys, though. On the other hand, if that kid pours water over their smart phone, a lot more damage is done. The Wii U tablet is just about as fragile, I'd assume.

  • Yep difference being it's 150usdollar and even more expensive as you need to pay international shipping costs

We'll all be dead by the time all oil on earth is gone, thanks to Nintendo. But it doesn't matter. We'll probably be using air to make our hovercraft's engine to work..

  • I think his comment was of rather sarcastic nature. At least I hope it was. As a matter of fact, oil is a pretty rare ressource. The oil problem will indeed solve itself, since we'll certainly run out of it by the year 2050. Coal is worse by far. We still have way too much of it and coal contributes to climate change in an even worse manner than oil.

This argument is invalid. It's not like if Nintendo did or didn't use plastic that all our oil problems would be solved. Nintendo is just a seed in a huge bag full of seeds.
