Its not a remake, in the developer interview he states they are interested in creating an open world much like the original zelda and wind waker.

Not what was said. They're going back to Zelda being one large open world you can explore. Besides, even if they said it was a remake, I'm sure it would still be amazing. The difference between remaking Zelda from the 8 and 16 bit days is a bit more of an update compared to, say, a gamecube Zelda title.
