Nintendo, darling, baby, I love you. You know you're my number one. But this madness with Mario Kart's battle mode has to stop. It hasn't been great since the N64 - surely you've heard? Just give us some good battle arenas, the option to switch off NPCs, and the ability to turn into a Bob-omb after our character runs out of balloons. I'm willing to pretend the last six battle modes never happened.

    I'm vehemently against the idea of DLC, but I must admit, I'd happily fork over cash for proper battle arena maps.

    Ditto. I'm only really okay with DLC if it's free, or if it feels like the game would still be complete without it. I kinda wonder if battle maps were left out so MK8 could be released on time.

    But... has Nintendo ever patched any game with free maps? I don't remember such situation. It's a bit pity regarding these battle tracks.

    I'd have to check, but I think some of Pikmin 3's extra content was free.

    I highly doubt the maps would be included in a free update. A lot of people would pay for them and Nintendo would easily figure that out.

    i meant a patch to completely take out batteling on tracks and the time limit, and put a few on disc maps. Do you really want to still battle on tracks if there are arena's?
