    Sonic was originally going to have a game called "Sonic X-treme" in the 90's, which was planned to be the very first 3d Sonic game, and it had the gravity concept, with small planitoids in the sky. It was canceled unfortunately, and then years later on the Wii, Super Mario Galaxy came, which used Sonic X-treme's gravity concept. So yeah, Sonic used gravity mechanics, and plantoids first.

    They didn't know at the time, but considering that Sonic X-treme is all over the internet nowadays, it wouldn't have been that hard to find footage of Sonic X-treme before development of Super Mario Galaxy.

    Since sonic Xtreme is cancelled Mario made the gravity first i know sonics still first but galaxys anti gravity not always upside down which makes it more controllable and then sonic lost worlds copied galaxy its the Power up idea gravity idea high in the air

    Just because a game has power ups, doesn't make it a copy of Mario. Anyways my point is, Sega had the gravity idea first, so it technically doesn't make it a rip off. And also if you think that if the game wasn't it released, it doesn't count, Sonic Adventure 2 had two gravity based stages, one which is practically EXACTLY the same as Mario Galaxy, but before Mario Galaxy even came out.
