Just my luck — as soon as I find Bravely Default - Collector's Edition on Amazon UK, I find that its price is utterly absurd. £189.99?? How do they expect me to afford that?!

    Who is 'they'? Neither Nintendo nor Square came up with that price. Thats what its worth do to its scarcity. Welcome to collecting. It only gets worse, the older the title!

    By “they”, I mean “the people at Amazon UK”. A second-hand Collector's Edition is £150-ish.

    The problem is that people buy games at those kind of prices. You try to buy any RPG on the SNES (Not downloading, getting a physical, original copy) the prices are like over £200.00!

    Or, in the case of a brand new copy, non-existent. eBay literally didn't have any results for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (GBA), and Amazon UK only had one copy of that game that was factory-sealed. I actually went out of my way to order it before it could disappear, but for Bravely Default - Collector's Edition, the price is even higher. Is it really that rare?!

    Same here, found the collector edition but for 190 euros! which is around 210-220 pounds. It's excessive...

    I know, right? Amazon UK have “2 new from £189.99”, and “2 used from £135.95”. I thought Wii U and Nintendo 64 games were more expensive…

    Well... the rarity is what makes it a COLLECTOR'S EDITION. As in, non-collectors need not apply. I have lots of rarities (the Zelda CD-i trilogy, Panzer Dragoon Saga, etc) all of which were hard to find 'in the wild'.
