Unfortunately, that doesn't mean they they were able to rest then. Only when they can't move, when they are stuck in in empty shells nailed to walls, unable to attack, do they see that the man who killed them is stuck in the same fate. That's when they feel avenged. Only then, are they able to come to terms with what happened, let go, and move on.

Nope. Phone Guy and Purple Guy CAN'T be the same. Phone Guy died during FNAF 1, Purple Guy died later, after the animatronics were dismantled.

Which would be between the 1st and 3rd game. The animatronics were dismantled after Five Nights 1. That's when he died. Besides, the "After the Nights" minigames take place in FNAF 1's restaurant. Check the lay-out.
