with the trailer of the new FE game out. i need to ask: what do you guys wanna see in the new game? personally i whan`t to see promoted classes for the dancer, taquel and manakete class (if they show up in the game). and a class that can weaken enemies for one turn using something like stafes would be nice. and maybe status ailments schould return. previous FE games had status ailments.

  • i liked that you kan choose between sides cuz it adds more replay of the game

  • I'd welcome the Sleep, Berserk and Silence Staff back. The return of Reaver weapons and the Summoner class would be cool too. The most important thing for me is a mode that encourages players to think outside the box and to develope their own strategies according to the situation. Lunatic+ showed how this could be done.

  • @boris:lunatic+ maked the game harder by giving the enemies 2 random lunatic+. i found this a very good way of making the game harder. i hope the new FE game will also have a neat way of making the game harder. and more importantly makes you think of unusuall strategies. (like you mentioned.)

  • (cont) @boris: also, talking about weapons. the sword, lance and axe breaker weapons schould return. they reverse the weapon triangle which makes them intresting. @frank: i now right, the support system already gave a nice amount of replay valeu. and now you can chose sides, you technically play the as maney times you like whill always discovering something new.

  • I'd like the same amount of DLC support for the new game as Awakening got. It was great how IS supported the game plus it helped boost re-playability which is always a good thing.

  • DLC is always nice. though, i hope the DLC are real new chapters and not DLC like the scramble packs whom only makes the main game easier. (and you need to pay real-life money).

  • Yeah more stuff like the Future Past pack and Challenge pack would be awesome!

  • The Scramble pack was for funny conversations and fanservice not for trivializing the game, that was the Golden pack. Anyway, they added those because IS wanted to make the game more appealing for new players. Some of them needed the extra help. Grinding will be in Hoshido but not in Nohr btw.

  • they are good for newcomers. but i hate the fact that you can to pay reall-life money to make the game easier.

  • Well, beginners can do Normal mode if they want a easier experience and simply use Reeking Boxes to make things less challenging. I don't mind that as long as it is completely optional (I'd be mad if I need DLC to beat the game, though).

  • i don`t think DLC would be ever necesarry to complete a game. that makes zero sense.

  • @Boris: Where did you find that grinding is available in Hoshido but not in Nohr? I wasn't aware of that. @sascha: What I wanna see in the new game is the return of an actually "Hard mode" à la Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, one that is hard without being Lunatic and that makes it possible to train everyone without grinding and still feel neither too weak not too strong.

  • I found the information here: http://serenesforest.net/2015/04/01/fire-emblem-official-site-snippets/ It doesn't explicitly say that there will be no grinding option but it strongly hints in that direction.

  • if there`s a world map. then there`s probely a grinding option. i`m actually hoping you can acses a arena like in FE: the sacred stones. also gives a nice change of both getting money and EXP at the same time.

  • Thanks, Boris, this is awesome information!! I so wish to see a Fire Emblem with an EXP situation à la Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. To me that was my favorite way to handle grinding because with the limited amount of extra EXP you could get, you could choose to get neither too strong nor too weak while maximizing the game's EXP opportunities. (Boss grinding and fort-farming aside.)
