    This game was also one of the 20 free games as part of the 3DS Ambassador programme. Now, however, anyone with a Wii U can get this game.

    It's only SMK and MKSC I own through Virtual Console. I can play all the other Mario Kart-games in the main series on it's original console.

    Mario Kart is a great franchise.I also own every one from SNES to Wii U,all of them physically and a repurchased the older ones digitally on both Wii and Wii U.

    My favourites are tied between this and MK8. I don't have/never played MK64 or SMK. But the others I do have come VERY close behind in my list of favourites... It's such a great series, that never seems to get boring no matter how many they make!

    George, I advise you to buy SMK on the eShop. You can play alone or with someone in SMK. If MK64 arrives the eShop I advises you to buy MK64 too.
