Can this Inkling language (I like to call it Inklish) actually be translated?

  • This shouldn't surprise you but I have been investigating the language! I've been writing doen the different letters found in the game and 'analyzing' them. I've found letters of the Roman, Korean and cyrillic alphabets so far (as well as made up letters of course) and if we assume the letters that actually exist have the same sounds that their real-life counterparts, we can make some sense of it!

  • I can read cyrillic, could you post a picture with lots of cyrillic? It would be fun to try and comprehend what it says! :D (I don't have the game so I can't check it out myself)

  • Ugh, here is some... Nutaki let's investigate more when you come here( and Charlotte, you can come too of you're around) :]

  • Haha it would take me a while xD But the first letter could be a a cyrillic "N" or a "sh" sound. Then we have something that look like a "ya". The last one on the yellow poster looks a little like a "b". I don't really recognize the ones between "ya" and "b" so that's definetely something else. Be sure to tell me what you two find! :)

  • This might be translate-able

  • I see something in the upper right corner looking like "ЯPON??IE" or something. Я=ya so maybe it stands Japan or something? I also see something looking like бы which sounds something like "böj" so maybe boy? That's all I've been able to see right now :)

  • But what I was thinking that this might be the back of an amiibo box translated into "inklish"

  • Then we would need to find the text of the amiibo box to compare :) Often they use real languages as a base when making up new ones in video games so I tried to see if I can see something resembling real language there but other than what I wrote I haven't really seen anything. Just want to add that "бы" sounds more like buy which could work with the amiibo thing.
