    Ever since videogames went from coin operated arcades to home video systems 30 (!) years ago, the lifes mechanic has been obsolete. It's sole purpose was to have you put more quarters into the machine, but for some reason nintendo keeps this pointless system. Three chances to continue from checkpoint, after that, waste your time by repeating the whole level. Pointless!
