If you have any uncooked rice, you can pour some into a bowl or dish and cover the control pad with it. Rice helps pull liquids out of electronics.

'Reminds me of the time I spilled a cup of milk on the SEGA Genesis mid-game and the system froze. It started going 'BZZZZZZZZZZT!' I'm not sure if that one ever worked again. 'Good thing we had another one.
