Question
I love Grammar Girl
Don't ask me why, but I find grammar fascinating. But I'm baffled on this one: “ ” = exact quotations. ‘ ’ = Used for quotations in quotations. I agreed; then she said the British do it differently. We're supposed to do it the other way around… But I'm sure I was taught “ ” are for exact spoken quotes and ‘ ’ are for exact written quotes! This can't be true then? X
