This game doesn't prove anything about racing skill. 'fire hopping' and 'demon sliding' are just flaws found in the game that the developers didn't realise. These world record time trials aren't to do with racing skill. Just stupis little cheats that help you get a faster time. Play other racers like Fast Racing Neo if you want to race with pure skill.

    Someone found the the FAST Racing Neo version of fire-hopping, so not necessarily anymore. If you want to race with pure skill and none of those things, Need 4 Speed and NASCAR are your best bets.

    Or maybe a realistic racing sim might be more up your alley. though i dont think wiiu has any games like that. i havent had much experience with F-NEO but it seems to be more about boost management than pure racing lines. hitting a wall or going wide in a corner can be disastrous in mk8 but not so much in f-neo. is that kinda what you meant by ''racing skill''?

    but at least fneo dosent have items so i think it is more skill based than mk8 in world wide races. but its silly to hate on the skipity hop mk8 racing. it increases the skill ceiling and speeds up what was a kind of slow game. plus more button pressing is usually a good thing in arcade games, thats why they implemented the colour change boost pads in fneo.

    F-NEO is all about reaction times and learning each turn and remembering where the boost pads and orbs are. You don't have time to think and it's pure skills. Mk8 is only skilled in 200cc mode where you have to break.

    obviously i would disagree with that but if you want to write off all your 150cc NIR wins as a bit of casual luck then go ahead. If you want tt competition on fneo i got 2.49.197 on chouku city (subsonic) no track cuts or OOB lap skips.

    i suppose it would be pretty thrilling finding a shortcut that gave you WR even if it didnt count. the devs should have known their game a little better. they are working on patches so they might fix it and there is a legit WR website.

    Hope they fix it because I hate cheaters!!! The key to this game is learning the corners so you go round them without bumping into the walls. You don't need to lean around corners you know. Leaning is for collecting orbs on straights.

    I liked the Wii version on mk. With the ghost level (can't remember the name) the walls fell if u hit them so I used to use that to my advantage. So I used more tactics with that one more than mk8. Plus u could play as king boo :) I haven't played neo racers (sorry if I hav got the title wrong -_-) so I can't comment on how good it is but I do think it looks interesting.
