Different names?!

In this game, there is a character named Staven, But when i played my old copy, He was named Byrne, How come?, and why change the name?

    In the English copy of the game he is named Staven. If you last played it on a cartridge, check who rated it. PEGI rates European games and the ESRB rates American. At least this is what I think.
