So sad to see klonoa slowly dying. (NOT A SPOILER!)

The main series sure was great. But after that they just made dumb spin-offs nobody bought. Namco, we care about klonoa. But you first have to realise it! You guys have more fans than you think. So how about making a Klonoa 3 and then advertising the game really well? a lot of people will be happy then...

  • The handheld games aren't fully fletched out either, but i still get the point.

    Yeahs0
  • I just realized that if they added Klonoa to Smash it would really help the series, just look at Xenoblade after the addition of its character to Smash, we would have gotten Klonoa 5 by now if he was in Smash, Klonoa would have a much bigger fanbase... (Yeah i know that Nintendo has no plans to release more DLCs but nothing stops them from making more, also add Klonoa in Smash for the NX maybe?)

    Yeahs0
  • Also the Wii remake of Klonoa for some reason uses a completely different translation, for instance the phrase "It's strange..." at the very beginning of the game has been replaced by "Don't you think it's kind of strange?", that's pretty odd but the remake is still great

    Yeahs0
  • I think what they should do is remake every Klonoa game in HD, with voice acting, etc. (like they did with Klonoa Wii) but also giving you the option of playing with the original graphics, fmv, healthbar, translation, etc. and release it for 3DS/Wii U/NX as Klonoa Collection. Sure it would be hard work but i'm pretty sure it would be easily worth retail price and become a must buy.

  • I just realized that the last Klonoa games before Klonoa Wii were the GBA games in 2002, while Klonoa Wii was released in 2008, that's a 6 year gap so maybe they are working on something, also the first game has been rereleased digitally in 2012 so there may be hope. Ape Escape didn't get anything new at all after 2011 so let's hope at least we get Klonoa back...

    Yeahs1
  • That 6 year gap is why i don't like the GBA games. But regardless, i hope he makes a comeback into the modern gaming world. (And no, not in a mobile game or FPS, but in it's own franchise with it's own roots!)

    Yeahs0
  • Klonoa FPS? I have no idea where to begin in order to list everything wrong in that sentence, also mobile game? Either go big or go home, Either console game or no more Klonoa. I was looking on the internet and i noticed that Klonoa 1 is extremely expensive (around 400€!) so i guess no Klonoa 1 for me :( (Also i'm NOT going digital, either physical or nothing)

    Yeahs0
  • "Klonoa! Use the granade launcher to take out the enemy turrets, they are holding Huepow hostage!" In all fairness, a Splatoon style childish Klonoa FPS isn't that bad of an idea... Maybe water guns?

    Yeahs0
  • Well, Plants VS Zombies turned into a FPS, so that is a sign that anything can be turned into a FPS. Now that i think of it, Klonoa being turned into an FPS might work really well. Maybe it will even appeal more people to the franchise then. Also, 400$?! I found a european copy for 50$ once. Maybe i will ask that for my birthday.

    Yeahs1
  • Are you still going on about that?

    Yeahs0
    Played
  • What i meant was a colorful lighthearted third person platformer spin off with, i don't know, water guns? Not a cash grabbing semi-edgy game sequel made solely to capitalize on the success of a mediocre game. The best mix between edgy and cutesy ever in my opinion is Conker's Bad Fur Day, unfortunately that game won't be seeing a VC release, too bad because it is one of my favourite games ever.

    Yeahs0
  • Also i would rather not have any more Klonoa games AT ALL if it means the series would be turned into a mindless, trying way too hard to be edgy FPS, a SPINOFF Klonoa X Splatoon kind of game would be pretty cool but only if that means we get more main series games after it, also if they made a Super Mario Run-esque game it would be fine but only if they made just one...

    Yeahs0
  • I didn't say the series had to turn Edgy, I meant that making it a FPS game could work, If it still uses the same aesthetics that the franchise always had.

    Yeahs1
  • Thinking about it, people would just call it a Splatoon clone, wich would kinda be good because we need more games like it but not if it's just a plain ripoff. So, either they make a Klonoa Collection (the best opition in my opinion), they make Klonoa 3 (second best option), they make a Banjo-Kazooie style Klonoa with an emphasis on items and weapons (EarthBound style) or mobile game (no)

    Yeahs1
  • After posting that i just realized how much potential a 3D, Banjo-Kazooie styled, with an emphasis on items and silly weapons, with a leveling up, open world element to it (kinda like EarthBound meets Banjo-Kazooie meets Rayman 2/3 meets Klonoa) Klonoa 3 could have. If it was made well then i think it would become the definitive Klonoa game.

    Yeahs0
  • I still don't get why Klonoa didn't get a spiritual successor, i mean, look: -Banjo-Kazooie | Yooka-Laylee -Classic Sonic | Freedom Planet -MegaMan | Mighty No.9 (wich is a surprisingly ok game) -Goldeneye | Perfect Dark And the list goes on. I still don't get why nobody made another cutesy platformer with enemy based puzzles and 2.5D segments (not to say that's all Klonoa had to it but you know)

    Yeahs0
  • I just realized that Milla Basset from Freedom Planet has an UNBELIEVABLY similar play style to Klonoa... Jokes aside i never noticed that until i tought about it, too bad she was ment to get her own campaign but never did, well, i guess that after all Freedom Planet 2 is coming out, hope Milla Basset gets her own Klonoa styled campaign mode.

    Yeahs0
  • I know it's been a few months, but a Klonoa movie has been announced! It's going to be based on the 1st game in the franchise. So i guess i should close this topic then. Anyway, i'm hyped.
