  • I haven't played the original, but i guess it's kinda like the "Cave of Ordeals" in Twilight Princess. I highly doubt the original resorts to cheap trial and error gameplay, but don't hesitate to prove me wrong here. I also strongly beliefe the policy is "hard but fair" and not "hard and cruel". I also build very hard levels, so i know what i'm talking about.

  • Your level was already genuinely hard. But the inclusion of those cheap door trap actually taints the whole level since there is absolutely 0 skill involved to overcome that kind of obstacle. With that said. I would be pleased if you could play (or beat?) some of my hard but fair courses, if you don't mind. In the meantime, i'll beat your 100 trials. As "most" of them are fair.

  • Everything you're accusing me of is 100% true. In the design of this level I was unfair, cruel, mean, and trollish. However, I have received many comments of praise about it, earned over 100 stars, and you're the first person to outright say they don't like it. So against all of the things you say make this a bad level, a great many people seem to disagree with you.

  • Maybe i'm just the first to waste my breath on this. People tend to only listen to praise but a bit of constructive criticism is also healthy. Then again, ★~100 against ~700 plays. The ★ quota isn't exactly amazing (still better than most ranked levels). Anyway, i'm off getting myself that pixel art.

  • For some reason i can't make that comment on your level post, but... Beliefe me or not, but i made it on my 3rd attempt. Of course as stated above i can't grant a star, even though the actual challenge was real.

  • It appears i misjudged your level. Af!er reading though the comment section, i think i can understand why so many people like this course. While the course might not be fair, it gives pertinacious people something to strife for. And attaining it (beating the level) af!er many many tries, is basically the most satifying feeling a level can grand you.

  • Therefor even if my statements are true and the level is technically flawed, it deserved any star given to it nonetheless. Please understand that starring a level featuring "bad designs" heavily conflicts with my own policy and i therefor can't star it. But i wanted to make clear that you earned my respect for granting people the before mentoned experiance.

  • Talakori,we meet again!when I beat this level (I cleared it twice!) I was able to make it to room 100 with 90-70 seconds on the clock on my 2nd win.(but then again,I was trying for the wr) I do agree that their are some unfair parts,but i don't

  • Yes, yes, I know about constructive criticism. But it's normally most effective when accompanied with compliments... Which you have now given me. Thanks. So you enjoyed the level, you think most of it is fair, you think it deserves people's stars, but you won't star it yourself because it's not perfect in your opinion? Sorry about all this. This level is like my baby...

  • However, whether you truly beat it in 3 attempts or not, (downloading it certainly helps) you beat it, so congratulations are in order. I won't be able to give you pixel art right away, so please be patient.

  • It doesn't have to do with perfection. I star a level for good design and enjoyment. I'm usually very forgiving when it comes to rough and edgy spots which may make the level more difficult than necessary or intended. But i also punish mayor design flaws and any intentional fake difficult, by not granting a star (but i give feedback so the course could be improved).

  • The respect i talked about is for you as a designer, but i can only star a level. Starring a level out of sympathy for the designer defeats the purpose of stars. The same goes for starring a course just because others also starred it. In the end, starring is about opinion. And in my opinion, you ruined a perfectly good challenge by adding trial and error elements.

  • Anyway, the possible design space and my inspiration leave me restless so i have to ask: Would you mind if i create a "Remix" of your very level (same concept/layout, different trials)? Of course i would credit your original course including course ID in the beginning of the level (and on posts featuring said level).

  • If your are unsure whether i deserve to create a make a remix of your "baby", allow me to show you two of my levels for reference. They generally have an identical concept of your 100 trials, but less trials. ☆500 Talakori Boss-Gauntet [1A8B-0000-018B-97D5] (Only 5 Trials) Palace of Ordeals (not sure about the number of trials, but the rooms are quite crafty)

  • I got through 40, died, and gave up. I like tough levels, though! I enjoyed what I somehow managed to get through! Keep it up!
