No fair! I used up my SP in a battle, had nearly won, and the boss wiped me out with 2 consecutive "lucky" invigorates. And I don't get to retain my SP. That took me TWO FULL DAYS to replenish!

If this is the boss I'm thinking of, he will always use invigorate to damage both parties when he's low on HP. When he's getting close to defeat, be sure to keep your defense buffed up. If you're lucky and keep defaulting, he'll probably finish himself off.

I figured that out after the 5 failure, but I beat them in the end - I used the ninja evade skill to dodge his explosions. I wouldn't have standed a chance normally (although I was playing on hard)

I don't know if I can beat it on hard though. The enemies just keep wiping my party out. I'd be more liberal with the SP potions if they weren't so time consuming to get.

Oh yeah, that's a good method to dodge it. The bosses will get tougher as you go on, so you'll have to keep mixing up your party in order to survive. Thankfully all the abilities that can hit your whole party are easily dodged with either that ninja ability or spiritism.

Have you completed the game? Did you find yourself using Bravely Second much? I was doing quite well on the hard difficulty, but when I hit the end of chapter 3 (entering Eternia), I started to have problems.

My Tiz has never really been a damage dealer, though I'm training him in being a knight and templar. I can't decide whether to let Agnes be an attack mage (haven't got sage yet, anyway) or a cleric.

Ringabel was mainly a thief - his base damage is poor, but I always relied on his godspeed strike to bring out the damage. Edea was a Swordmaster/Spellsword, but I found relying on counters was not reliable, and am trying her out as a valkyrie.

I've beat it a few times, and I have only used Bravely Second to one-shot Gigas Lich. I found that if you use certain methods, you don't need the extra damage. It's just a matter of a lot of grinding. Knight is a very good class if you build their defense up enough. Honestly, I don't like the offensive mages. Spiritmaster/White Mage would be a good combo for her.

Hmm, if you want a lot of damage for less BP, use pirate or dark knight. Ninja is brilliant for mass damage because of dual wield.

I forgot to mention - I changed Ringabel to a dark knight because he just kept getting knocked out, but I did have a potentially strong Ninja setup with him - IIRC, evade+, attack+ on evade and reave(?). I may revert if I can figure out how to keep him alive for more than 2 hits...
