The wait for Zelda Wii U is unbearable, but I'm sure we will all love it when it is released later this year. We have waited years with very little information, so what're several more months with lots of information at E3. These several months will be the easiest part of the wait.

  • When did you first hear about Zelda U?

  • Other than it being a given that each new Nintendo console will have a new Zelda, I think it was E3 2014 when I first heard any official news. Other than Aonuma a year or so before, during the development of 'WWHD', announcing they were working on the next installment.

  • Oh, I've been waiting since 2011 when I first heard rumors about it and saw the Tech Demo. :P

  • Yes it's going to have been a long 5 years by the time it is released. I wish Nintendo would stop using Zelda for tech demos, it raises our hopes each time, and makes the wait less bearable, but having said that, all the footage we've seen since 2014 makes Zelda Wii U VERY promising looking.

  • Well the whole point of Zelda games are they stretch a console to the limits of it's abilities, and are always the grandest title on their platform. In fact in many cases, including the Wii U's, there are many features that were only implemented into a console just because of something they thought they could do in that console's Zelda game. So Mario may be Nintendo's face, but Zelda is the Heart.

  • The whole point of Zelda games isn't to push the boundaries of what their intended console of release can do. Like any decent creative, the people behind the games want to make the most out of the conduit they have to use, wether that means requesting additional features or making the most of what can be afforded to them. It all depends on what ideas they have and wether they can achieve them.

  • The point I was trying to make is that both previous Zelda themed tech demos portrayed a Zelda experience which got fans' heartbeat's racing, but which could never fulfilled. We are aware that they are just tech demos, but they show a glimpse of an amazing new Zelda world which will never be turned into a game because the console it's for cannot run a full game at that visual fidelity.
