    Press X and go to the equip screen. There should be a "Show on Top" button on the touch screen. Tapping that will bring your character to the top screen...

    You can use the circle pad to rotate the camera and press A to have the selected character do an attack. L/R for switching character and B to return. :)

    All I needed to know was the attack command. I found out by accident after I posted (and you can use L as well) but thanks anyway!
