    @Rhys I am profoundly deaf in both ears and wear hearing aids, so using headphone with the 3DS isn't any better, in fact it's worse as the sound quality is lower and muffled.

    Ah sorry, in that case my suggestion is a bit pointless! You can turn up the volume of the chimes in the options but its a shame you cant adjust the music volume at all.
