    Try deleting the game, and the save data, and download it from the eShop again. Maybe there was an issue the first time you downloaded it?

    Tends to freeze more often when I'm in a level and use the Pause menu to quit back to the select screen. It's frozen 5 times but only reset my save 3 of those times.

    It's a mystery because I've had no issues after playing about 50% of the game. I'd try what Dave said and wipe everything related to the game and re-download it from the e-shop.
