    I've read one day worth of Miiverse posts with the tag 'question', but I haven't found any answers x_X I had similar problems with the purchase of the DLC / activating the shop. Back then, a restart of my WiiU did the trick, but it didn't help now :/

    Got it! :) After quitting the game, and checking for updates (on the WiiU) I tried to start MK8 again. But suddenly there were updates! 5 minutes dowloading, 5 minutes installing and hop, I have an updated MK :p Good luck!

    I got the same message, so I went back, started MK8, which activated a pop-up that was downloading, then installing updates. Once that was done, the title screen showed '3.0' instead of '2.0'. When going further with the game, another pop-up appeared with -again- downloading (the DLC) and installing. 30 minutes later I was racing with Link :)
