WARNING: This collection doesn't play like the orignal games!! The music and the graphics don't live up to the arcade originals! And the music in PAC-MAN arrangement is worse than elevator music!!

A: Clearly you've never played the original game before. And B: you have clearly never been in an elevator before.

WARNING! it plays just like the original. arrangment in particular introduces interesting ghost fusions and dash panels.

Oh, putting 'gay' instead of 'gert' in my name... that's clever. -_-

WARNING: This game is awesome, and exactly like the original.

If what you mean by "exactly like the orignal" is the gameboy ports then you're right! but if you mean it's like the orignal versions of PAC-MAN, PAC-MANIA and PAC-ATTACK then you're wrong, and should go and play those and you'll see what I mean! For example the original PAC-MAN didn't scroll and had better more high quality sound!

There's the option to turn off scrolling and go full screen, also the sounds are as minimally altered as makes no difference. There are about 170 versions of Pac Man out there, and I think this one is one of the most faithful to the original. This isn't supposed to actually BE the arcade version, it's quite clearly the GBA, four game compilation, so I'm not sure what you were expecting.

Dude listen to the arcade version of pac manias stage 1 music on youtube and you'll agree that the GBA version isn't great! (They even cut most of the song out!)

I was referring more to the original game, which compares very well, but I can see what you mean about Pac Mania.

You're a little confused about one thing - the scrolling which you can disable. However the original game and Pacmania play VERY close their originals. Played my Amiga version of Pacmania last night to compare. There are reasons why there are differences in Pacman - the source code has long been lost. The closest available version is the PS1 version. Your memory seems to be the issue, I'm afraid.

Dude, play the orignal arcade version of Pac-man arrangement and listen to the sound then compare it to this...

you have a point in there. however, i must say i don't care. the gameplay's intact. plus, the game is quite cheap. a very solid offer.

I understand your point about the sound, but let's be reasonable here - comparing the sound capabilities versus a limited-spec handheld version is alittle silly. Ports of any kind to lower tech platfotms are ALWAYS going to suffer in some ways.

The gameboy advance is way more advanced than arcade games from the 80's and early 90's...

The GBA wasn't more advanced in a number of ways. Moore's law meant the inevitable processing power and memory increased, but what you may be overlooking is the most fundamental difference between these platforms - power. The GBA, as with any handheld device, has to balance capabilities with power usage - more speed, less battery life - something has to give.

(cont) Audio circuitry and amplification sucks much more power compared to processing. Without going into this too deeply (with the limited space here), I recommend you have a quick Google for Gunpei Yokoi and look for statements from about his design philosophy for Gameboy - that should explain things further.

Gunpei had nothing to do with the GBA's development, dude

Pretty sure Gunpei's design principles are the foundation for all Nintendo handhelds.

I did not say Gunpei had anything to do with the GBA. I merely pointed out that if you wanted to find out further detail about the design philosophy involved, his statements are agood place to start - which it is.
