I don't get how Nintendo even think about making coin as a item. It just worsen everything. When you are in like the first place in the last lap, you have 10 coins already and you need a banana peel or a shell to protect yourself, but you get a coin, get hit by a red shell and everything just leads to a big mess. If coins still going to be an item you could at least get 5 coins instead of wimpy 2!
