I always used to wonder why Aversa reacted like this after Ricken attacked her, but it actually makes quite a bit of sense -- what with her being a Dark Flier and all.

  • "It's your worst nightmare, Aversa. What'cha gonna do about it? Run. It's the only way out of your sad fate of despair." ...Would be what Ricken would say if he was more responsible. THEN there'd be no reason to call him young anymore.

  • ...Oh right... I forgot... Ricken ain't Henry... Sorry Marribelle and CC: I sort of put my words into Ricken's mouth. I really should stop writing his letters, or his parents would kill me!... Or Minerva could bite my head off... (I did the Ricken-Cherche pairing: so now he's Batman's (Gerome) father.)

  • Come to think of it, that actually does sound like something the MU would sneak into one of Ricken's letters.

  • Out of curiosity; how and when does this convo happen. I guess you have to have Ricken fight Aversa at some point, but which map?

  • Thanks, I remember now. Yeah, having the Dark Flier being shocked over the newly introduced wind-wielder is probably also intended to give the player a hint on how to counter flying units.

  • I'd say so. Although it didn't really work 'cause it took me ages to figure out Dark Fliers were weak to more than just archer classes.

  • Ricken really serves the FE archetype of the 'Wind Magic user really early in the game' quite well, like Soren or Merrick from FE 9 and 1/11/12. I like him, though they could have brought back the Magic Trinity from the GBA games. (Nothing wrong with the use of magic in this game, but it'd be nice if one countered the other like in the weapon triangle.)

  • Oh, yeah, but that might make things a little complicated. I don't even really consider weapons' weaknesses when battling -- but rather damage and hit rate.
