    To make it a fair race, sonic is the fastest thing alive and the is not fair on everyone else, also you might get run over if you race outside the car, the fate of most hedgehogs on the road.

    he can't travel over water very well, and cannot fly. Also a good form of protection, unless he wants to be hit directly by vehicles or rockets. He needs to follow the rules too.
