  • I would put PW vs PL at the end but I'm not sure f I should get it anymore because I've only played half of the first PL game and I'm honestly not that keen on what I've played of it.. :/

  • @Kuwata: Huh? o_O Chronologically AJ definitely takes place afte r the whole first trilogy (even afte r both Investigations' for that matter). It's the most freely placeable game in a complete playthrough (fewest references/connections to the other games) but I'd recommend the order of release: 1-2-3-AJ-I1-I2-DD (the latter half can be changed though, just play AJ before DD and I1 before I2).

  • Chronologically PWvsPL takes place somewhere between 3 and AJ. But I also played it at the end (only before I2). I'm not a huge fan of Layton as well (played the first 3 games, then gave up on it). PlvsPW is pretty much 50% Layton and 50% Ace Attorney. The story is awesome (the ending terrible), the AA parts as good as in the original series. I really enjoyed it apart from the truly awful ending

  • and Layton often being annoying as ****. In my ranking of the AA series it'd be easily last since the whole Layton-part brings it down imo. What is it exactly that you don't like about Layton?

  • Yeah.. When I was playing PL I remember trying to get into a house/castle or something only for a guy to randomly throw a puzzle in that is completely unrelated to the story :// If I got it I can tell il love the AA sections! :O Are the investigation things taken over by PL?? Haha I can imagine the ending being like "it was just a dream" or "it never actually happened" xD

  • Maybe he mixed sth up?^^ That's one of the things that heavily annoy me in PL as well. Doesn't change in the crossover. Yup, the investigations are almost complete Layton-style whereas the trials are AA-style. Quite close^^ Seriously, this is the single thing I absolutely hate about Layton. They have this wonderful mystery and then the ending comes and completely ruins everything. "No, it was

  • @Liz (Another example of my slowness..) I still thought she was the protagonist! Yuu reminds me of Persona 4 heheh ._. @AwesomeMe Awww I like the ace attorney investigation things... If I get the game I really hope it isn't like find evidence/clues, talk to random person who might have evidence, "I might have evidence BUT only if you do this puzzle...

  • Yup, me too :( It's not like that though. You don't get any evidence during the Layton-parts, only in trials. "Investigation"-parts are just like in the Layton games, talking to people and solving puzzles.

  • It's like in the cases in AA where you don't investigate but are only in the courtroom. You get all your evidence there, presented by the prosecution (or witnesses). The Layton-parts don't have much to do with the trials since the "murders" mostly happen in the end of the Layton-part.
