    Get more stars / trophies to increase your progress. If you check I believe it is the "records" section from the main menu, you should see a list of how far along you are and some hints on what to do next. ;-)

    ^ Yep. A popular opinion is that there is a hidden EXP bar regarding your progress, which is filled when either you get trophies or when you get more stars in your records, but this is only speculation.
