Kylo's reasons were different than Jacens, I haven't read the Legacy of the force arc in a few years, but didn't Jacen become a Sith Lord for his daughter or something like that? Kylo became one, well, I don't believe it's been fully explained, but I'm fairly certain it had things to do with family problems, being lied to, and obviously Snoke.
