Physics class has tought me many things that I'd rather keep REALLY deep down. but as for Quantum mechanics and entropy and all that, I'm all in on blowing peoples minds. Technically, at the atomic level, things never 'touch' we percieve it as that, but only due to the vibrating state of the (to us) solid matter. As for the in half thing, matter does eventually break down to the atomic state TBC
