This loosely follows the idea that the drawing tools work like real drawing tools. They have textured tools, like pencils, paints, and spray cans, but you can put them all on one layer and blend them together regarless of tool. It is more of a digital art program than Home Studio and gives you three layers instead of practically none. The lessons, sadly, are pretty easy and childish.
