Yes the Wii U is region locked. However someone will find a work around for that eventually. When that happens I will be all set. It's just a matter of time for it to happen. The European version wasn't getting any cheaper and will only get more expensive as time goes on. I thought that buying it now and sitting on it until I can play it was a better option than waiting as the price increases.
