That totally sucks. I feel your pain. I had a spreadsheet with all the books I own plus my wantlist. I deleted it and it was overwritten before I realized it was gone. Now, I keep multiple copies of files I'm working on when I use the PC. The 3DS and WiiU make it hard to keep extra copies. It seems like there should be an undelete, too.
