Even with the change in gameplay in Super Paper Mario (which I didn't mind) the story still made it amazing, and the two games before it had that and good gameplay and characters as well. That's what really matters in a Paper Mario game. Without a dynamic story or a vibrant cast the game is nothing. Color Splash's good graphics doesn't make up for those missing elements.
