It isn't pointless, the Master Sword's skills are locked until you get every lvl2-3 tier, making you have to unlock them to unlock the skill, then getting every lvl4 weapons, unlocks the 25,000 skill. These skills for the Master Sword make it the most powerful weapon in the game, in such, it isn't pointless.
