The "easy" way to kill it is to make as close to perfect an EBD as you can and kill it with the first BD so it never flies down and gets the spike. (Perfect means more than 5 potential augments) The "harder" method is to get armour with ether resistance (you need at least 50 ideally 80+) and follow it down to carry on. (PS you'll need null ether reflect - it has reflect all)
