You can fight it standing on top of the northern most peak in Noctilum, it flies right passed it; note you ahve to hit it with your skell to make it stop then land and fight it; it can take a few tries to get it to stop in the right place. Also if your first BD doesn't kill it it will fly down to the ground and turn on an ether spike (and you can't then win without ether resistance)
