I'd say go for it. It's not too difficult to get all the buildings. Took me a day and a haft to get all of them on my 3rd file. I ran into the same situation your having on my 1st island so I dropped the game for a year due to many miis I don't care about and many fights. 2nd, didn't get desired relationship. Now, its looking better. Still yr choice in the end!
