Genesis soundchip was no better than the NES', while the SNES was cd quality. The 32x had nothing good about it. the cd add on was atrocious on genesis. Games were lower quality than SNES. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 didn't even have a save feture. the genesis was behind the times.
