Beat the snowhead dungeon to bring spring to the area, blow up the rock blocking the goron racetrack using a powder keg, and come in 1st place. But if you want to up grade your sword, you need to upgrade the kokiri sword to the razor sword on day 1, then upgrade the razor sword with gold dust on day 2.
