That doesn't make any sense. There's about as much mystery behind the Mask of Scents, the bunny hood, and the All-Night Mask as there is the Fierce Diety mask. There's absolutely no story attached to it whatsoever. It just turns Link in to an oni, which is why he's called "Oni Link" in Japan. It's just some random demon.
