This is mostly true, especially the getting sucked up to part. Coming from someone with 3000+ users on my main account, people try so hard to talk to me on my posts just because I have more followers than the average user. I talk to some other popular users, but most of my friends aren't popular and I like to give the underrated users recognition through shoutouts sometimes.
