You don't need to use Bravely Second to win the summon fights at all. You need to survive one round by buffing your defense. If you ever do need to use the mechanic, you can put your 3DS in sleep mode, but the likelihood is that you'll never have to. It's just there if someone wants to do it, but in no way is it necessary.
